The experts say to spend your money on performance.
Never before have I donated for a fund-raiser auction such a beautiful, in-bred little hen with so much performance on both sides of her pedigree. In the extended pedigree, 4 Federation 400 winners can be found on the top side, combined with the same Janssen line producing 4 AU Champions and a Federation 400 winner on the bottom side. Since 1998, I have concentrated on, and bred for outstanding performance in the 400 mile Ohio-Penn Federation races by crossing 3 lines; Janssen, Desmet Mathys and Van Loon. The Janssens have come from Ganus, Smeltzer, and Mardis; the Desmets from Bobby Kryzenski and Andy Kowalewski, and the Van Loons from Bobby Gonzalez. My flying distance in these races is 382 miles.
We have had overall wins in 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2013, against races of up to 2133 birds. In addition, in 2005, the race was won by my close friend Steve Schlabach with a youngster bred from pigeons I had loaned him that he later returned. Also, in 2009, we were 2nd with a small cock-bird bred from a great Bobby Gonzalez-bred Van Loon hen crossed with a great Janssen based performance cock from the exceptional breeder, Wally Tienprasid, of Westerville, Ohio.

On the top side of this pedigree, the great Desmet Mathys breeding hen, 1307 AU OCH 97, shows up in the fourth generation 4 times. In addition to being the dam and grand-dam of 2 Federation 400 winners, she was also the great grand-dam of 2 SBMF FUTURITY winners for 2 different lofts.
I hope the genetics of this outstanding specimen can help you like the blood has helped me.
