The History
“The Ohio–Penn Federation launched its first 500-mile race in 1993 (36 lofts, 326 birds), growing to 135 lofts and 1,900 birds by 2003. A 400-mile race was added in 1998, expanding to 156 lofts and 2,133 birds by 2003. In 2002, races earned American Racing Pigeon Union sanctioning, with top winners recognized nationally. The Federation format promotes competition and recognition across Club, Section, and Overall levels, helping revive long-distance racing across Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, Maryland and into New York.”
